PURPOSE:To allow injection start timing to be adjusted under an operational condition by providing a spill passage and a spill valve of an injection pipe communicating to a plunger chamber in the said changer in a bypass manner and variably controlling the shift quantity of the spill valve. CONSTITUTION:When a plunger 1 starts ascending in a plunger chamber 12, an oil feed hole 7 near the center of a barrel 2 is blocked. Accordingly, the compression of the plunger chamber 12 and an injection chamber 5 begins. The pressure in a spill passage 6 is also increased, and the spill valve 3 depresses a seat 4 via a spring 8 from the pump side. Thereby, the start of effective compression is delayed by the oil pressure from the spill passage 6 during a length A until the spill valve 3 is seated on the seat 4. The fuel leaked through the spill valve 3 is bypassed to the fuel feed pipe 11 for a fuel pump via a bypass passage 13. |
