PURPOSE:To enable a paper to be taken out when paper jamming is generated in a main body of a printer, by a construction wherein a guide plate on the carrier side of a pair of guide plates is split into a plurality of guide plates so that the split guide plates can be independently opened and closed. CONSTITUTION:A paper-supplying roller 59 makes contact with a paper placed in a paper cassette 12, the papers 23 are fed out sequentially from the upper one and by one sheet at a time, are guided by a pair of guide plates 33, 34, and are fed to a platen 20. On a paper jam, a front cover of a printer casing is opened, the left split guide plate 36 is opened when the carrier 25 is located at a right position, and the right split guide plate 37 is opened when the carrier 25 is located at a left position. Then, the jammed paper 23 is taken out. After removing the jammed paper 23, the opened guide plate is again closed, and printing is started. |
