The invention relates to an upright reactor for methanol production, having a cylindrical casing with exchanger tubes penetrating the catalyst bed in the interior of the casing, and a gas-permeable tray or net, supporting the catalyst bed, in the lower reactor section. In such a reactor, the object to be achieved is to enable both the exchange of the catalyst charge and the monitoring and replacement of the heat exchanger tubes in the catalyst bed and the replacement of the catalyst tray or net to be carried out in a constructionally simple reactor design, while improving the flow conditions in the catalyst bed. For this purpose, it is provided that the casing (G) is closed by an upper cover (5) and the catalyst bed is surrounded by a cylindrical shell (13) within the casing, which shell can, when the cover is removed, be lifted with the catalyst bed in the longitudinal direction of the reactor out of the casing (G) of the latter. <IMAGE> |
