PURPOSE:To seal or remove the harmful components contained in city water and to use the city water as it is as a preserving liquid for a soft contact lens SCL by using a preparation for preparing the preserving liquid for SCL in which an isotonic agent, metal sealing agent, remaining chlorine removing agent and if necessary, a pH buffer agent are incorporated. CONSTITUTION:This preparation which consists of 0.02-0.4% an isotonic agent such as sodium chloride and a metal sealing agent such as ethylenediamineteraacetate (EDTA), 0.0006-0.1% remaining chlorine removing agent such as sodium thiosulfate and a pH buffer agent of boric acid buffer expected to provide a bacteriostatic effect in consideration for contamination of bacteria are composed as follows in order for each of the above-mentioned components to exist in the required amt. when said preparation is dissolved in city water: 26-85wt% the isotonic agent, 14-35wt% the metallic sealing agent, 0.03-14wt% the remaining chlorine removing agent, 0-42wt% the pH buffer agent and 0-10wt% other. The other refers to a lubricant added for the purpose of preparation. If such preparation is dissolved in a specified amt. of city water according to the above-mentioned constitution, the soln. has 6.0-7.4pH and 0.9-1.2 osmotic pressure ratio and is usable as a preserving liquid for SCL. |
