PURPOSE:To enhance reliability of the titled device and reduce cost, by a method wherein a base provided with a heat-fusible layer is brought into close contact with the surface of an image-recorded material, and then the layer is heated to be transferred and fixed to the surface as a protective layer. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer possessing medium A consisting of the base 1 and the heat-fusible layer 2 is fed out from a supplying roll 5, and is brought into close contact with a continuous image-recorded material B comprising image parts 3 and non-image parts 4. The resultant laminate is fed between a heating roll 7 (provided with a heater 8) and a back-up roll 9 by guide rolls 6, while the layer 2 is melted by the heat transmitted from the side of the base 1 of the medium A, is transferred onto the surface of the material B as a protective layer, and the image-recorded material B with the images thus solidified is taken up by a take-up roll 10. |
