PURPOSE:To obtain the titled magnetic head having high accuracy by forming the 1st nonmagnetic block having a projected part containing a planar top part and the 2nd nonmagnetic block which is set so as to form a gap around a projected part for production of an auxiliary magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:A projected part 5a for auxiliary magnetic pole is formed at a prescribed position on the upper side of a ferrite block 5 in the form of a truncated pyramid. A planar top part 5b is formed so that a groove 10c having a rectangular section of a nonmagnetic block 10b is set opposite to a planar top part 5b of the part 5a. Then the part 5b is polished up to a mirror surface. A nonmagnetic block 10a having a projected top is put together with the block 10b by means of glass. Then the part 5a is cut along chain lines (m) at the center part and its intermediate area respectively. These cut faces are polished up to mirror surfaces. A nonmagnetic film 12 and then a main magnetic pole film 13 having high permeability and high saturated magnetic flux density are provided on a composite substrate 11. Thus a single magnetic pole type head for vertical recording is obtained with high accuracy. |
