PURPOSE:A safe skin cosmetic, containing a 5-hydroxyisoflavone present in beans and grains as a component having whitening effect and improved antisuntan and skin beautifying effect, and useful for lotion, cream or milky lotion, packs, etc. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic containing a 5-hydroxyisoflavone, preferably genistein of formula I or genistin of formula II which is said to have antimicrobial, female hormonal and antioxidant action, and preset in soybeans, which is an isoflavone present in beans and grains in an amount of preferably 0.01-1%. The 5-hydroxyisoflavone which is an active constituent is capable of exhibiting remarkably the inhibitory effect on the formation of a dopachrome dyestuff (melanin pigment) of tyrosinase. |
