PURPOSE:To obtain high fixation characteristics stably for a long period even in high-speed processing by providing a roller for fixation processing with a surface layer of an elastic body, and destaticizing the roller with a member which comes into specific contact. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller 1 and a pressure roller 2 have elastic layers 11 and 21 on their surfaces respectively, and the space S' formed when recording paper P supplied with toner T is clamped is reduced to limit the scatter range of toner T. This roller 2, etc., are destaticized stably for a long period by the grounded destaticizing member 8 whose tip part A and flank part B contact the surface to prevent the negative high-potential electrostatical charging of the roller 2; and toner scatter parabolic lines D converge on the recording paper and a toner offset is decreased. Consequently, the stable fixation characteristics are obtained for a long period even in high-speed processing and an offset-free image of high quality is formed. |
