摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the heat transfer performance by preventing the leak and by-pass flow of fluid along the shell side by a structure wherein annular baffle plates are provided in a gap formed between the periphery of a heat transfer tube bundle and a shell or shroud. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of annular baffle plates 30 are arranged on the outer peripheral side of the bundle of the heat transfer tubes 2 of a heat exchanger at the positions, which are out of phase with respect to baffle plates 4 and fixed on the inner wall side of a shell 1. When the arrangement of respective heat transfer tubes 2 on the outer peripheral side of the heat exchanger tube bundle is of triangular pitch, the inner edge side of the baffle plate 30 is formed in a saw tooth shape 30a, while when of circular pitch, in an annular shape 30b. The installation interval of the annular baffle plate 30 and the gap between the plate 30 and the outer peripheral side heat transfer pipes are set so that the pressure loss in the annular flow path formed between the outer peripheral side heat transfer tubes of the heat transfer tube bundle and the annular baffle plates equals to the pressure loss within the heat transfer tube bundle. Due to the structure as just mentioned above, the leak flow between the baffle plates 4 and the shell 1 is suppressed and at the same time the by-pass flow, which directly passes between the outer peripheral side of the heat transfer tube bundle and the shell, is efficiently prevented from occurring.
