PURPOSE:To perform belt type continuous casting with good quality without formation of flash by pressing belts which face each other near the corner parts on the molten metal side of side blocks to the corner parts or increasing the wall thickness in the corner parts of the side blocks. CONSTITUTION:Belts 2 near the corners C on the molten steel side of side blocks 9 are pressed by providing corner pressers 12 or the thickness on the molten metal side of the blocks 9 is increased to increase the effect of pressing the belts. The pressing force of the corner pressers to the belts 2 is adjusted by adjusting force F. Contact is always maintained between the belts 2 and the corner parts C of the blocks 9 by such mechanism. Penetration of the molten metal and formation of flash are thus obviated and therefore the operation is stabilized and the belt type continuous casting with good quality is made possible. |
