PURPOSE:To improve fixation characteristics by forming a thin heat-resisting elastic body layer on a heat fixing roll and specifying its surface roughness. CONSTITUTION:The heat-resisting elastic body layer 4 of the heat fixing roller 1 which constitutes a heat fixing device together with a pressure roll, etc., is formed thinly of a heat-resisting elastic body such as silicone rubber, and its surface is roughened to 1-20mumRz cross mean roughness. The roll 1 rises up to a specific temperature in a short time after power-on operation because of this thin film and roughened surface, and no defect in fixation is caused even in continuous fixation processing to improve the fixation characteristics, forming a copy image of good quality. |
