<p>Yarn is wound spirally onto the larger diameter end of a frusto-conical surface defined by a series of radial forming vanes carried on a central hub, and advanced towards the smaller diameter end where it is pref drawn off axially through the hub. Pref. outer vanes are arranged extending between adjacent forming vanes to press the yarn inwardly between adjacent forming vanes and cause it to circulate, and pref. heating fluid is circulated through the hub to improve the insertion of the crimp. The apparatus is novel.</p> |
