DROPOUT COMPENSATING CIRCUIT

PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a reproduced picture image by delaying an FM video signal and making earlier the starting point of time of dropout detection from the FM video signal relatively so as to suppress transient noise. CONSTITUTION:An interpolation circuit 5 delays an FM luminance signal (a) to be subject to dropout compensation so as to make earlier the dropout detection of a dropout detecting circuit 10 relatively. As a result, the effect of a dropout pulse signal (d) due to transient period is avoided and the transient noise is suppressed.
