PURPOSE:A composition useful in the field of cosmetic, drug, food, dye, etc., having improved storage stability to temperature and ligh rays, containing butylhydroxytoluene and shikonin and/or its derivative. CONSTITUTION:A composition having improved storage stability to temperature and light rays, containing shikonin and/or its derivative, and butylhydroxytoluene in a weight ratio of (1:1)-(1:100). The use of shikonin and its derivative together with butylhydroxytoluene keeps beautiful color tone of shikonin and its derivative and medicinal effect. Shikonin and its derivative (e.g., isobutylshikonin) are usually obtained by extraction from cell of the root of Lithospermum officinale Linne var. erythrohizon Maximowicz by callus cultivation method or the rhizome of it with an organic solvent such as ethanol, etc. and used. |
