A power factor controller possessing a test circuit consists of a reactive component detector(4), two comparators(5,7), two gate circuits(17,18), a timer circuit(20), and a test switch(9). The two comparators(5,7) compares the outputs between component detector and a setting circuit for turn-on time of the condenser(6). The two gate circuits(17,18) povide outputs when outputs of (5) or (7) and (20) are received. When the test switch(9) turns on, the two gate circuit(17,18) are turned on and the signal from a test signal generator is transmitted to the sequence circuits for test.
