PURPOSE:To perform sheathing work without shore struts and waling by covering the ground by utilizing the atmospheric pressure by a method in which steel piles are driven on the opposite and both sides of the excavation side, an air tight sheet is laid in such a way as to surround the excavation side and the back side of the steel sheet piles, and the air in the sheet is sucked. CONSTITUTION:A given-wide airtight sheet 2 provided with a pipe 4 having a valve 3 is set in place on the ground 1's surface. Steel piles 5 are driven into the ground 1 on back and both sides at given distances from the excavation side 6, end 2' of the airtight sheet 2 is folded into the ground 1' on the back side of the steel sheet piles, buried, and fixed at three points. The excavation side 6 is excavated to a given depth, the front 2'' of the airtight sheet 2 is folded into the excavated face 6 and buried, and the air is sucked through the pipe 4 for sheathing. Sheathing work can thus be made without needs for shore struts and waling. |
