The invention relates to a retaining clamp for formwork elements which comprises a U-shaped clip with a cross-piece and legs and retaining elements which are arranged displaceably along the latter and pivotably, comprise a guide piece with a support and can be fastened by means of clamping elements. The essence of the invention is that the supporting surface of the cross-piece and the bearing surfaces of the supports lie at least partially outside the plane of the legs of the clip, serving as axes of rotation.
