A device for holding and adjusting structural elements, especially door and window frames, in correspondingly large wall apertures, and for the wall attachment of plate-shaped structural elements, especially radiators or cladding, has a screw bolt, an expanding sleeve which surrounds the screw bolt and is split into expanding flaps at its one end by slots which run in the longitudinal direction, and a device for expanding the expanding flaps by rotation of the screw bolt. The expanding device consists of inwardly pointing beads or tooth systems in the expanding flaps and an expanding body which rests from the inside against the beads or the tooth systems.
