A glass frame for installing a glass pane in a wall, e.g. partition, in which, to form the holding profile which grips the glass pane - a frame part holding one edge of the glass pane 1 is formed by a steel sheet part (glass rebate 2, 3) shaped in the manner of a rebate, which serves to receive the glass edge, - the steel sheet edge part adjoining the glass rebate 2, 3 is shaped to form a hollow chamber 4 extending along the glass rebate 2, 3, - a glass holding strip 5 is pushed onto the hollow chamber 4 in a clamping manner so that, with the glass rebate 2, 3, a glass groove surrounding one edge of the glass pane 1 is formed, and - a cover strip 6, which covers the hollow chamber 4 and the glass holding strip 5, is placed with a clamping fit on the glass holding strip 5. <IMAGE>
