PURPOSE:Particulate mixture of lime and iron ore is granulated and hardened into pellet form by using cement clinker powder to thereby provide dephosphorizing, slag forming agent having good slagability and self-suppporing strength. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 55 to 80% lime and less than 40% of Fe2O3 as iron ore is charged into a ball mill and pulverized to the size of below 0.05 mm. To this powder is addedd 5 to 15% of 0.1 mm or less particulate cement clinker and mixed togehter. The mixture is added with 10 to 20% of water, blended and granulated into pellet form with 5 to 15 mm in diameter. The pellet form is naturally hardened without being fired to produce slag forming agent. The pellet functions, when added to slag is steel converter, to maintain O2 patential in the molten slag at a high value, to keep the slag strong basic, and to stabilize P in the molten steel as nCaO.P2O5, slagging and dephosphorizing it. |
