The invention relates to a pneumatic horizontal press for extracting the juice from grapes, fruit or the like, in which the horizontally mounted pressing drum is subdivided by a pressing diaphragm into an air space and a pressing space, it being possible for the pressing space to be filled and/or emptied via a cover opening provided in the shell of the drum. The object is to provide such horizontal presses in a space-saving and user-friendly design. This object is achieved by providing, preferably at the end of the pressing drum, which may also be mounted in a self-supporting manner, a relatively narrow, easily accessible juice run-off zone which is bounded by ribs running around the outside wall of the shell of the drum. <IMAGE>
