In a circular hand saw with a bottom plate which can be swivelled by means of a bell crank lever pivotably mounted on an eye of the bottom plate and accommodating the pivot of the counter-bearing, the mechanical connection between the saw casing and the bell crank lever is to be improved in such a way that the bottom plate can be exchanged more rapidly than before and that the circular hand saw can be converted without problems to a saw for blind joints. According to the invention, this is achieved by virtue of the fact that the pivot of the saw casing is formed by a hinge pin attached fixedly to the bell crank lever and that the saw casing is provided with a swivel bearing which can be expanded counter to a restoring force for the purpose of inserting and removing the hinge pin of the bell crank lever. <IMAGE>
