A handy device for detecting the bullets emerging from a rifle barrel (44) consists of a housing (10) having two built-in light barriers (22, 22), an electronic device (24) and a continuous longitudinal channel (12) as well as a holder (28), which is arranged at one housing end and by means of which the housing can be clamped to a rifle barrel (44). With the housing (10) fixed to the rifle barrel, the marksman can execute aimed shots at targets, while at the same time the exit speed of the bullets from the rifle barrel is measured and displayed on a separate display device. <IMAGE>
