A lawn covering for road verges comprises at least one lawn covering plate which, in a closed surface, has a recess adapted to the passage cross-section of a road guide device mounted in a base under the lawn covering plate, and, on its circumference, has a profiling suitable for horizontal and vertical locking with neighbouring lawn covering plates. Advantageously the surface is provided with a gradient towards the recess.
