PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction of each switch by providing a means for generating a signal enabling an operation switch and displaying the function of the switch in response to the signal generated therefrom. CONSTITUTION:A desired radio signal is received and demodulated at a radio section 20, a digital signal is obtained at a waveform shaping section 30 and inputted to a decoder 40, then the decoder 40 compares a selective call signal with the own address signal stored in an ROM50. When the result of comparison is coincident, the call display is attained to a display device 80 via a buffer 70. A message data processing section 60 is started at the same time, a succeeding message signal is decoded, the message is given to the buffer 70 to sound a speaker 80 and stored in a memory of the processing section 60. When a switch S0 is depressed, an enabling signal is generated and when switches S1-S3 are depressed, the operating mode such as read/protection/erasion or the like of message data is displayed on a display device 90 in response to the enabling signal generated by the S0 and the function or the like of the switch operated next is displayed. |
