摘要 PURPOSE:To miniaturize the title device by temperature control by means of a temperature controller and thus reduce the consumed power by a method wherein a cavity and a light emitting element are thermally coupled to each other as an integral structure. CONSTITUTION:A rubidium gas cell 2 and a solar battery 3 are contained in the cavity 1 of a photo-microwave resonator, and a light the light emitting element 4 generates is made incident from the aperture of the cavity 1. The battery generates an electric signal according to the light that resulting from the passage of this incidence light through the gas cell 2, transmits the signal to an oscillation circuit part (not illustrated), and then excites the cavity 1 by means of the output of the circuit. The cavity and the light emitting element 4 are thermally coupled to each other by installation of the element 4 to the cavity 1 with a support 5 of good thermal conductivity. The outside thereof is covered with a heat insulator 8 and a shield case 9, and a heater 7 for heating is connected to the temperature controller 11; thereby the atomic oscillator is miniaturized, and the consumed power is reduced.
