The title compds. of formula (1) are prepd. by condensing compds. of formula (3) with amides of formula (4). In the formulas, R1 is H, C1-6 alkyl, dialkyl-aminoalkyl, or a pharmaceutically permissible cation; R2 is C3-8 hydrocarbon; R3 is C1-10 hydrocarbon; one or two H atoms of R2 or R3 can be substd. with halo; the ending H or R3 can be substd. with methoxy, acylamino, amidino, guanidino, carboxylic acid, or sulfonic acid. (1) are used to selctively regulate the metabolism of dipeptidase [E.C.3.4.13.11 .
