PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic head for vertical or in-plane magnetic recording having high recording and reproducing efficiency by forming the magnetic poles of the construction consisting of only the magnetic material parts which are formed of at least >=2 kinds of magnetic materials and of which the satd. magnetic flux density is highest on the surface side facing a medium. CONSTITUTION:Thin magnetic films 82, 92 consisting of Ni-Fe, Co-Zr-Mo or the like are formed on a non-magnetic base plate 81 of Al2O3 or the like and a magnetic base plate 9 of Mu-Zn ferrite or the like and further thin high satd. magnetic flux films 83, 93 consisting of Fe-Si, Fe-Ti, etc. having the satd. magnetic flux density higher than said thin magnetic films are formed thereon. 84, 94 are non-magnetic gap materials such as SiO2, 85, 95 are non-magnetic insulators such as PIQ, 86, 96 are coils, 87 is a thin ferromagnetic film such as Co-Zr-Nb. The film thickness of the films 83, 93 is preferably <=0.25mum for vertical magnetic recording and >=0.5mum for in-plane magnetic recording and said thin high satd. magnetic flux films as well as the other magnetic pole parts are more preferably formed of multi-layered magnetic films. |
