PURPOSE:To obtain the 3-dimensional position information on many and unspecified objects with high accuracy by having the correspondence between a surface where the objects are caught at the initial position and a surface where they are caught at the final position and calculating the distance to the objects on a basis of said correspondence. CONSTITUTION:When an image pickup part 1 is set at the initial position at the left edge of a shift mechanism 2, the output start signal of a 2-dimensional picture signal and a drive pulse (clock) are delivered to the part 1 from a control circuit 5. Then the part 1 delivers an image picked-up picture signal to an A/D converting circuit 7. At the same time, the output start signal given from the circuit 5 functions for the initialization of an address counter 9. While the pulse functions as the counter input of the counter 9 and the sampling signal of the circuit 7 and produces the address signal of a picture memory 10. Thus the circuit 7 converts the picture signal given from the part 1 into a digital signal through A/D conversion by the sampling signal and writes the digital picture signal to the memory 10 by an address signal. |
