PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent picture by switching field interpolation and line interpolation in response to the degree of movement. CONSTITUTION:An inputted NTSC signal A/D-converted by A/D conversion 16 is separated into a luminance signal Yf and a carrier chrominance signal Cf by an inter-field Y/C separating circuit 31 and separated into a luminance signal YF and a carrier chrominance signal CF by an inter-frame Y/C separating circuit 32. These signals are inputted to interpolation circuits 4a, 4b, where the signals are interpolated with the different interpolation method in response to the output of a movement detection circuit 33. The interpolated output is converted sequentially in the scanning by time axis converting circuits 3a, 3b, and a color difference signal CJ is separated into two chrominance signals by a linear interpolation circuit 29 and inputted to a matrix circuit 5. Furhter, three primary color signals R, G and B are D/A-converted at D/A converters 6a-6c and outputted. |
