PURPOSE:To omit the operation of a conversion key by driving a KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese character) conversion part after the length of a pause part in an input tone is detected and this pause length exceeds a certain threshold level. CONSTITUTION:When a sentence is read toward a microphone 1, the A/D converted tones are sent to a pause detecting part 9. Then the energy E is calculated at an energy calculating part 9a. A comparing part 9b compares the threshold value with the energy E. If the E is larger than the threshold value, data is sent to a speech recognizing part 3. Furthermore a no-sound frame counter 9c is cleared to zero, and the part 3 is actuated. The result of confirmation is stored to a store buffer 4. In case the E is smaller than the threshold value, the counter 9c counts by +1. Then the part 9d compares the value of the counter 9c with the threshold value. When a pause longer than the threshold value is detected, a KANA/KANJI conversion part 6 is driven. The part 6 reads the result of confirmation out of the buffer 4 to perform KANA/KANJI conversion. The result of this conversion is delivered to a memory 7, and a correction is received when necessary from a keyboard 5. Then the result is stored to a floppy disk 8 when the input is over. |
