PURPOSE:To water-cool uniformly the whole circumference of a hot-extruded material and to prevent the generation of its cooling warp by charging a hot extruded material extruded from an extrusion press into a water tank in which a water jet is formed for the purpose of cooling it. CONSTITUTION:Water is jetted slantly upward from a nozzle 5 into a water tank 4 by using a pump 8 so as to maintain a fixed water level while preventing the water from inversely flowing out of an opening 4b, and the overflowed water is returned to a pit 7 through a conduit 6 to recirculate it by the pump 8. A hot extruding material 2 is extruded by an extrusion press 1 by driving a run-out table 3, and is inserted into the tank 4 from the opening 4b of tank 4 by the table 3, and is cooled. The cooled hot-extruded material 2 is extracted from the tank 4 and is mounted on a cooling table 9 to transport it to the next stage. |
