PURPOSE:To switch and connect optical fiber cables without the bad influence upon cores in the state with the line used effectively, by using casing connecting parts and parts for tightly sealing a connection part to switch and connect a part of the already provided optical cable to a new optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION:An already provided cable 1 where a part of a casing 6 is torn off and a tension member 15 is cut to a proper length and a new cable 1' are passed through parts for tightly sealing a connection part and casing connecting parts consisting of a rubber tube 7, a metallic sleeve 9, and a gasket matallic jig 12. An idle optical fiber core 16 is cut by an excess length and is passed through a plastic pipe 17 and is passed through parts for tightly sealing a connection part and casing connecting parts and is connected to the new cable 1'. After all connections are terminated similarly, a projection 5 of the rubber tube 7 is held between end face plates 8a and 8b and is tightened by a bolt to seal the casing 6 tightly. Thus, cables are switched and connected without the bad influence upon cores in the state with the line used effectively. |
