PURPOSE:To stably detect the ink droplet injecting state by forming the ink droplet bonding surface of an ink detecting electrode as an ink absorbing surface, thereby preventing the ink droplets from raising. CONSTITUTION:Ink droplets from a nozzle 2 of an ink jet head 1 moved to the position opposed to a detecting electrode 21 is absorbed to the electrode 21 that the ink droplet bonding surface is used as an ink absorbing surface. Thus, charge of reverse polarity to the ink droplets is induced at the electrode 21 of the prescribed voltage by a charging power source 4. The propriety of the ink droplets injecting state is detected by comparing with a reference voltage. The ink droplet is prevented from raising on the electrode 21 by constructing the detecting electrode of the absorbing ability so that the distance between the nozzle 2 and the electrode 21 does not alter, and the ink droplet injecting state is always stabilized and detected. |
