PURPOSE:To automatically feed cut sheets one by one without any additional part such as an operation lever or the like by providing a guide frame of an automatic sheet feeder with a lock member forming a lock mechanism in cooperation with the opening portion of a cassette. CONSTITUTION:Before mounting a cassette 20, a guide frame 29 is declined at its free end about a shaft 30 and brough into contact with a pin 31. Though in such a condition, a lock member 38 is fitted in an opening portion 39, the forward end of the lock member 38 and the base of a groove of a guide frame 29 are separated from each other not to be an obstacle to installing the cassette 20. When the cassette 20 is further inserted, the forward end of the cassette 20 is brought into contact with a stopper 29a of the forward end portion of the guide frame 29 to stop the cassette, so that the lock member 38 is positioned corresponding to an opening portion 37 of the cassette 20. If one's hand holding the cassette 20 is released in such a condition, the cassette 20 and the guide frame 29 are turned clockwise on the shaft 30 by gravity to fit the lock member 38 in the opening portion 39. At this time, a cut sheet 21 is pressed to a sheet feed roller 35. |
