An NAD-dependent methanol dehydrogenase enzyme which, in vivo, forms part of a complex with NADH dehydrogenase enzyme and formaldehyde dehydrogenase enzyme, which complex is coupled to the respiratory chain via the NADH dehydrogenase enzyme. The invention further relates to a process for culturing micro-organisms capable of producing this enzyme, in which methanol is used as a C source; to chemical products recovered, and epoxidation and hydroxylation reactions carried out, by means of such micro-organisms; and also to such methylotrophic micro-organisms per se. |
