<p>The invention relates in general to installations used for the purification of wastewater. Specifically the invention makes improvements in floating surface aeration equipment or installations for oxidising ponds, these improvements affecting the floating unit in that improved means are provided to ensure easy assembly and disassembly of the agitator equipment on the float, and stable floatability of the equipment, opposing the vortex or turbulent action which is produced in the liquid mass undergoing purification when the equipment is working. The installation is also improved by providing it with means for avoiding the entry of undesirable solids. The invention has its most direct application in biological oxidation in the treatment of wastewater. Figure 1 is to be regarded as a preferred illustration of the improved equipment according to the invention.</p> |
