PURPOSE:To obtain a battery with excellent resistance to liquid leakage without deteriorating the characteristics of a gasket by heating and drying a combined body consisting of the gasket and a sealing body, adjusting the water content of the gasket, combining the combined body with a battery case, and tightly sealing it. CONSTITUTION:A gasket 7 is molded using nylon 6.6. The recess of this gasket 7 or the lower periphery of a sealing plate 6 are coated with a proper liquid packing 8 and the gasket 7 and the sealing plate 6 are combined. This is contained in a drying furnace and the water content of the gasket is adjusted to 0.5-2.0%. This assembling body is filled with a gel type negative electrode 9. On the other hand, a black mix 2, separator 4, and impregnant 5 are incorporated in a battery case 1 and a preset amount of an electrolyte is injected. A sealing battery is completed by combining this positive electrode assembling body and a negative electrode assembling body and bending the opening section of the case 1 to the peripheral section of the gasket 7. As a result, the mechanical characteristics of nylon 6.6 can be shown to the utmost and an alkaline battery with excellent long-term resistance to leakage can be formed. |
