The door includes a frame comprising two uprights joined by a lintel and a threshold. Each of the uprights (2) is wider than the standard size by an amount equal to half the difference between two successive standard widths, while the overall width of the door is equal to the larger of these two widths. Thus by sawing strips (9) off the uprights, a door is produced of the smaller standard width, or of any desired intermediate width.
