<p>The internal combustion engine has liquid fuel injection into the cylinders towards the end of the air compression stroke. Its compression ratio lies between about 13 and 17; the liquid fuel contains volatile light fractions and heavy fractions. Ignition of the air-fuel mixture is by an electric spark. The fuel may be a petrol mixture for internal combustion engines and a diesel oil mixture for diesel engines. Application to the car industry. <IMAGE></p> |
