<p>The wall to be protected is first covered with sheets of polystyrene or other insulating material by means of adhesive cement. This is covered with a layer of reinforcing mortar with suitable physico-mechanical characteristics, such as non-cracking and tough, for protection of the sheets, consisting of 10-50% cement, graded sand, cellulosic additives to give the necessary plasticity, synthetic resin of polyvinyl acetate type contributing hardness and adhesion, and glass fibre cut to 12-25 mm. length in amount of 1-40%. For exterior coatings, the mortar should be covered with a layer of plastics paint or plaster.</p> |
