ELECTROLYTIC CELL BY ION-EXCHANGE MEMBRANE METHOD

PURPOSE:To improve electrolytic efficiency by housing plural anodes into bag- shaped moldings to smooth the flow of the electrolyte in anode chambers. CONSTITUTION:A titled electrolytic cell is constituted by installing two electrolyte supply pipes 21 and a manihold 22 having an electrolyte discharge pipe 20 for each anode chamber in the upper part of an electrolytic cell body 1, positioning respectively the bottom ends of the two pipes 21 on the outside of pow- er feed bars 5 and positioning the pipe 20 between the two pipes 21 and 21. Said anode chamber is formed of plural anodes 11 which are housed into a bag-shaped molding formed of an ion exchange membrane. Each of said anodes 11 is formed of the power feed bar erected on a bottom plate 4 of the electrolytic cell and an anode constituting body 8 connected thereto. The electrolyte supplied from the pipes 21 of such electrolytic cell circulates in the area on the outside of the anode chamber and thereafter the electrolyte circulates in the inside area of the bar 5, then the electrolyte is discharged from the pipe 20 into the manihold 22.
