PURPOSE:To accumulate measured values in an external computer easily by fitting a means for storing a data identifying code and a measured value sequentially while making these values correspond to each other integrally with the body of a length measuring device so as to detach the means from the body and carry it. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with an encoder 14 coupled with a measuring element 12 to detect the displacement of the measuring element 12, a counter 16 for counting an encoded output signal, a display device 20 for displaying the counted value as a measured value, a data switch 38 for accessing the measured value, a data identifying means 40 for putting a data identifying code including at least an article No. to the accessed measured value, and a storage means 30 for storing the data identifying code and the measured value sequentially while making these values correspond to each other and reading out the stored contents in accordance with a request from an external computer. The storage means 30 can be discharged from the body 10 of the length measuring device to be carried without interrupting the measured value displaying function of the display device 20. |
