PURPOSE:To improve the operativity of composition by displaying image information in the image area in the layout figure of a document, and segmenting and composing image information while performing panning operation through a pointing device. CONSTITUTION:A CPU displays image information read in the image area in the layout figure displayed on a CRT. The information is displayed while superimposed on the basis of, for example, the left upper end as an origin, and pieces of information 21 and 22 are superposed, one over another, in image areas 11 and 12. When an operator moves the pen of a digitizer horizontally to left, the image information shifts to left and pieces of image information 31 and 32 are superposed in the image areas 11 and 12 respectively. Thus, the panning operation is repeated until the images are displayed in the necessary image areas 11 and 12, then the operator starts segmenting operation. |
