[Also in Division G1] A ball bearing comprises balls between inner intermediate and outer races 1, 3, 2, and means rotatably oscillating the intermediate race 3, the means comprising a shaft 11 rotated about an axis parallel to the bearing axis and having an eccentric pin 14 driving a housing 17 fixed on the median ring. In Fig. 1, a shaft 11 is journalled by bearings 9, 10 in a hole 8 in housing 6, and carries a turbine wheel driven by air from pipe 13 . An eccentric pin 14 on shaft 11 is fixed in the inner ring of ball bearing 15, the inner ring engaging a housing 17 secured to the intermediate race 3. Fig. 2, (not shown), shaft 11 is driven by gears. Alternatively the pin may directly engage housing 17. |
