[Also in Divisions B2 and F2] Spray washing apparatus particularly for motor vehicles comprises a body B forming a lid of a detergent reservoir R and having a passageway P therethrough for connection with a water supply line, e.g. a garden hose H and a valve V in the passageway P having a valve member 46 movable to open or close the passageway P and a valve member D controlling orifices 60, 64 upstream and downstream, respectively, of the valve V and leading from the passageway P to the reservoir R, the member D closing at least the upstream orifice 60 when the valve member 46 is in its closed position and opening both orifices 60, 64 when the valve member 46 is in its open position. Thus, when the valve V is open, water passes via the orifice 60 into the detergent reservoir R and detergent solution is forced from the latter through the orifice 64 into the water flow through the passageway P, the resultant mixture passing through a tube T to a nozzle N (Fig. 1, not shown) to be discharged as a fan-shaped jet. The valve V may be set into a third position in which the valve member D closes the orifices 60, 64, but the valve 46 allows a flow of rinsing water through the passageway P and the discharge nozzle. |
