PURPOSE:To set the proper amount of exposure which prevents a failure in copying at any temperature by obtaining the temperature and optimum exposure amount characteristic of a photosensitive body previously, and storing and reading it. CONSTITUTION:A person who sets the amount of exposure uses a setup chart to take copies corresponding to the respective amounts of exposure, and selects a copy which is judged to be taken with the optimum amount l of exposure to input information thereon through an input device 22. An arithmetic processor 23 calculates the temperature-optimum exposure amount characteristic L2 of the copying machine from said information and current information K from a temperature sensor 21, and stores it in an internal memory. Every time a start switch for copying is turned on, the arithmetic processor 23 fetches the temperature information from the temperature sensor 21 to select information based upon the stored characteristic L2, and control a lamp driving device 14 so that the corresponding quantity of light is obtained from a lamp 13 for exposure. Consequently, the photosensitive body 11 is exposed with the optimum quantity of light corresponding to the ambient temperature to evade a failure in copying. |
