The quenching may be carried out with first hot, then cold, water; completely in cold water or in air. The steel may be pre-heated in air and/or salt. After quenching, the steel may be washed in hot or cold water with ultrasonic vibration, dipped in acid and/or rinsed in hot water containing a rust inhibitor. |
