The invention relates to a process for the preparation of the compounds, which are known as blockers of beta-adrenergic receptors, of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 represents the group CH2=CH-CH2O- and R2 represents hydrogen, or R2 represents the group CH3O-CH2-CH2- and R1 represents hydrogen, or salts thereof, which is characterised in that a compound of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 and R2 have the above meanings, is reacted with a reactive derivative of the isopropylamine of the formula (CH3)2CH-NH-M (III> in which M represents an organic silyl group, the group -MgX in which X denotes halogen, or an alkali metal atom, the group M in the reaction product obtained is removed by treatment with a solvent containing hydroxyl groups and replaced by hydrogen, and, if desired, a free compound of the formula I obtained is converted into a salt, or a salt obtained is converted into the free compound or another salt.
