PURPOSE:To obtain an illuminator for color photography which does not degrade the resolution by sequentially transmitting or reflecting each wavelength of 3-color primaries by using a liquid crystal plate which is formed according to the shape of a 3-color filter, and by sequentially illuminating an object with a specific wavelength. CONSTITUTION:Illuminating light from a light source device 3 is led to an inserted part 4 of an endoscope through a light guide 20, and an optical image, which is received by a solid-state image sensor 6, is displayed on a CRT for monitoring 17 through a video processing part 9. In the light source device 3, an illumination lamp 22 and a reflector 23 are installed, and they are constructed so that reflected light from the reflector is led to one end of the light guide 20. On the light path, a 3-primary color filter 25 and adjoining liquid crystal plate 26 are installed, and the liquid crystal plate 26 is set so that each stripe part of the same part is used as the transmission part of light according to each stripe of the 3-primary color filter. The transmission part is switched by a multiplexer 29 in synchronization with a multiplexer 12 of a video processor 9. |
